Thanks a lot! It is moister according to this service letter. Well, as the polyester will not rust, I might leave it like this. If I want to redo it, I should do it in the summer or use a decent heater. Lessons learned.

Leo, that's kinda what I'm doing, cheap clock quartz movement and running wires down to an A23 (12volt) battery by the fuse panel so it's easy to replace the battery every 12-24 months. Likewise for when I disconnect the 3EE it will still run. The main go-to place in the States does every old car's clock but the Avanti. Baa-humbug.

I left mine unpainted and then added the “GT” type stripes to add to the contrast. Stripes are a wrap so if the next owner can remove them with a heat gun if they think them blasphemous! Mike

Good deal for someone IF it starts and runs. 80k miles is not too bad. I'd be interested but I just bought my project 2 months ago.

What happened to this product....very hard to chase down?

My clock was fitted with a quartz. They cleaned whole clock and istelled new glass. Looks original and works on time and has own fuse. I also installed a 3 amp fuse (can be even less) in the battery, which I use to bypass the battery connection if I store the car for a longer period of time when the main power is off from battery. If I open the door, the interior light comes on and the 3A fuse doesn't blow yet, but it will if there is even a small short circuit or some unexpected power consumption. For sale is a 1963 R2 Avanti for restoration. A California car with a perfect frame and hog troughs, even the rear frame crossover tube is perfect. It is a very late round light car, serial R 4873B. It is equipped with the supercharged R2 engine, power shift automatic transmission, manual windows, power steering and 3.73 axle ratio. I have installed a new style front main lip type seal on the crank and a new water pump. The car also has R3 upper control arms. It has been off the road for some time and stored in a dry garage. However, the old dark brown repaint is shot and the interior needs work. High back front seats were installed and interior color changed to a complimentary brownish color to go with the exterior. Dash has one crack above the radio speaker but is very repairable. The supercharger is on the car and works fine. I also installed new white wall R205 75 15 tires. Brakes were bled and work(?) but included is a Turner disc brake upgrade still in boxes in the trunk. Price is $10750. I’m in Cincinnati, Ohio my phone is 5 one three two zero seven two 381. My memory is a little hazy now (and the back seat is back in place, so I can't really see it), but I think that is correct.

My Temp and Air knobs on my 72 are in less than stellar condition. The chrome is almost completely gone, and I tried to repaint them with "chrome" spray paint. What a waste of time! Since they are no longer available thru our vendors, has anyone found an alternative that is a similar match to the round originals?

You may be correct with “four”… Myself I figured ‘two’….One stamp for the indented ring around the center, and a second stamping for the five scallops/ flats. I’m not a stamping expert, and am only guessing here!

Just wait until you do the front pipes up to the manifold. It was 102 yesterday and I took the R2 out for a spin and heat wasn't a problem.

Hey Ron, I just did this as well. Started at the mufflers and there was such a drastic difference, I stopped there (for now). Each muffler wrap was $28 (https://amzn.to/3SmgIxp).
