  2. In your particular case, due to the year model and build location, John Hull should have the build sheet for your car. I know he charges for the information so you'll need to decide if you want to inquire about this with him. Also, a lot of the information that I put together came from John and Don Linder. The rest was done through research, which is ongoing also.

  4. Ernie.. I have an "02" and am pretty sure of the production numbers for that year.. 1 of 33, 1 of 15ish convertibles and 1 of 3 in the green color. Those numbers didn't come from John Hull... they came from ''ronmanfredi'' (who posted above). He's been trying to put together tallies and numbers on our '01-07' Models. What has frustrated me is IF this was a (say) '69 Camaro, I would be able to read the vin and get ALL info on the vehicle... Not true in our cars. To me, value is somewhat based on rarity and there is very little to go on.
  5. @SCPO-PD You're welcome; glad I could help! Sorry the parts in the pictures are kind of grimy - I did this installation 20 yrs and many miles ago. @Bobcat I hope your mechanic can get this puzzle solved for you. You will really like this once it's done. It really transforms the car at highway speeds and is the single greatest improvement I've done over the years. To get the full benefit of this conversion, make sure you have a method of engaging the torque converter lock-up clutch. There are a few different ways to achieve this and there are aftermarket devices available to perform this function.
  6. I purchased carb kit from SI last week… $69 in catalog…. $99 plus shipping upon arrival! Yes, always inquire current price.

  8. I dont need any, but saved the listing just in case. . .
  9. Thank you! I have several lists of the production numbers, none of them align with one another, but one thing is certain, there were not many produced in 2005-2007 and the numbers of known to still exist is even less. . .I am a proud owner, I have wanted an Avanti since I was young, I remember walking down the street with my father, who was stationed at Beale Air Force Base, and asking, what is that. . .he said and I quote, "That is a Studebaker, it is their sports car, it is an Avanti-(having just returned from Italy) you know that means Forward. Those Studebakers have always been ahead of everyone! That last quote is one of the ones I hear the most about our cars. My Avanti is at the boat shop getting some work done on it. . .but it should be out next week. I love late winter in Alabama it feels like Summer in Michigan!
  10. Adam - MUCH THANKS for the pictures. I am getting ready to put my th700 back in and couldn't remember the connections -yes I forgot to take pictures.....

  12. The same goes with Dan Booth. He has a habit of quoting one price and then when you get the invoice it's much higher (like heart attack higher), so I now pin down the price with all the sellers.
  13. Myers had a potential supplier of this trim he was hoping to work with. Talk to his daughter at the shop. I am looking for same.
  14. Last week
  15. If you work with Meyer's, make sure you get price first. He was able to supply me with some rears, but since we did not discuss price ahead of time, I just about had a heart attack when I got the charge.
  16. Contact Jon Myer at Myer’s Studebaker. He has a number of Avanti parts cars.
  17. '63 or '64? AFAIK the rear arm rests are the same for both years, but the front arm rests are a little different on top. Perhaps, hopefully, either year could be used for your car. --Dwight
  18. Working on getting the new interior installed now that the repainted body is back on the totally rebuilt chassis. I sent the four arm rests out to be reupholstered and the shop lost them! Trying to find both the front and back ones in decent condition. By "decent" I mean only needing new vinyl, not seriously water damaged or warped. Hoping one of the memers saved a set from a '64 that was parted out.
  19. Does anyone have pics that they will post here showing using the linkage available thru nostalgic ,and installed, for the 200 4r?
  20. I had a manual for the 2002 Avanti I owned. It was nothing more than the GM manual with an Avanti Motors cover on it.
  21. I'm still looking for a 2006 Avanti manual.
  22. Thank-you. I got it done.
  23. I'd like to find a FORUM member in the Olympia Washington area to help me with making a possible parts purchase, in the Olympia area. The seller of the parts is not exactly sure about what he is selling, and I'd like to find someone in the Olympia area that could look at the parts. I'll pay for your time etc. Thanks , John 54 year member of AOAI and SDC
  24. https://www.wikihow.com/Bleed-a-Master-Cylinder Here is a step by step instruction program that explains how to bleed a master cylinder and the entire brake system.
  25. I FULLY understand! There are shops in my area that rebuild hydraulic cylinders. It cannot take more than an hour ! ( farmers are poor too---just ask one!)
  26. I also broke off the screw/studs that the gas door hinges attach to, but thankfully I realized this was a problem that should be addressed before I finished painting the car. I ended up drilling out the studs from the outside, then counter sunk the holes, and epoxied in new studs from the outside. While the epoxy will provide most of the holding, the oversized head being outside the fiberglass will hold a lot better than anything you can just glue to the inside. For the studs I used machine screws that I ground the heads down thinner on.
  27. Not sure I'm qualified to answer your question, but the idea is to remove all air bubbles from the master cylinder before it's hooked up to the brake lines for further bleeding. I don't remember being told to do that ~30 years ago -- so we didn't. But I now do it automatically, especially when instructed to do so.
  28. Its true that the stock tire is taller than what you have, but the stock size fills the wheel well better so the body does not appear to be too high above tire.
