mfg Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 ‘64 Avanti R5482 is ‘famous’ for the engine under its hood… That engine is: 1) The original Bill Burke Bonneville Stude engine 2) The R3 engine which was crated, shipped to England by Paxton, then shipped back to the U.S. 3) The ‘Studependous’ drag racing R3 engine (run in ‘60 Lark drag car) or…. 4) Authentic R4 twin four barrel engine (once in Studebaker Museum)

Paul sold me different NOS Avanti items over the years at very fair prices… and was certainly thinking ahead when he purchased and brought back to the U.S. the two still crated R3 and R4 Paxton built Studebaker engines.
