Moving the hood prop to the opposite inner fender.

Nice job!.....You've got four that I had...but I really don't see changing the rear screen attachment as a body (fiberglass) modification.
Can anyone think of one or two more??
The location of the cutouts are different.

Avanti83,
Was the inner fibreglass panel removed from your doors in the hinge area?
Normally you need to slide the hinge into place making the job extra painful.
If I have read your post correctly the inner panel has been removed allowing the hinge to open and close without removing the door all the time to add shims.
Thanks for the info

I found that if you do the exact opposite of what you think you should do then you should achieve your goal.
Seriously none of it makes sense but I do recall Bez ( I Think ) detailing the process.
I can't remember if it was on this site or SDC but have a good look.
Have fun.

Has anyone recently converted there clock to a Quartz movement?
If so I was wondering which brand and model number quartz movement you purchased.
I'm really talking about those owners you undertook the conversion themselves and opposed to sending the clock off for repairs.
My clock is obviously cactus so I'm looking for the appropriate part to do the conversion myself.
Thanks

I compared my Hawk winders to my Avanti winders and I think it can be done.
You need to use the Hawk manual winder mechanism and the top part of the Avanti mechanism.
If they are laid out in front of you it is easy to see which rivet you need to remove to swap things over.
I have not personally done this but have compared my spare Gt Hawk winders with my Avanti electric and manual winders and it looks a simple enough switch.
I hope that helps.

From what I here, quite a few Avantis have been exported to OZ from the U.S. over the last ten years......ENJOY!!!!
Your right, there must be about 40 here maybe more.

Great story.
I noticed there was a member in Alice Springs just before I headed off to Ayres rock for Christmas . I wondered if there was an Avanti there, I guess there is now.
I will drop in next time.
Have fun and if you need any parts send me a line.

Hello Mike
I'm pretty sure you can get them from most if not all stude parts vendors.
If not remove from any other Stude V8

Not sure of the FX code but any torque converter repairer can add stall if required so you don't necessarily have to buy another one.

Answer...Hawks & Larks certainly had optional windshield washers, but the 'stylish' Avanti exterior chrome washer nozzle was unique to the Avanti.
I'm not sure about that.
From memory some 63 Hawks I have seen in Australia have the Avanti style nozzle.

Rear quarter window seals

Since these rubbers are hard to get and not getting any easier I was thinking if something else could be modified to work.
Now the Amc Gremlin has a very similar side window to the Avanti.
I'm not sure if they are available but has anyone done the exercise and compared the two to see if it could work?
