Be sure you can find a replacement pad and have it in your hands before you commit to tearing everything apart.
I agree.
They can be hard to find at the moment.

I like it. Sometimes I learn things.

I say false.
Their main concern was figuring out how were they going to add a gutter. The rest comes after that.

It was an old part number from a previous suspension application.

That's the one GS. My reference to San Fran was way off.
Was Frank Mitchell Motors an Auto graveyard ?
-
I forget the colour but it was around the San Fran area. It was on ebay for ages at a rather high Bin price.
It used to get commented on quite regularly. It sold a few years ago.
Gunslinger should remember.

Wasn't the Avanti in "Mythbusters" and for along time on ebay located in a wreckers yard?

That was my next guess as I assumed Studebaker wouldn't bother carrying 2 different parts for the same job.
-
I will say true as they may need more or less tension depending on the application.
-
My guess is maybe not.
I assume it would have been difficult to apply the woodgraining with the AVANTI script in place so it was done out of necessity.

Steering wheel and Recaro seats.

My guess is False
Were they not used on powered tailgate windows on the Wagonaire ?

Dave,
For that you will need to remove the back seat rest and make a similar sized steel anchor (same or larger than the seatbelt anchors )
Bond and rivet that underneath the parcel shelf and you should be away.

Dave,
If you look under the back of the car in front of rear tyre and along the diff you should see 4 square plates riveted and bonded to the body.
That is where the bolts screw into for the seat belt. You obviously access them by flicking out the rear seat bottom.

I did try the thin mounts when I dropped the engine in however there was some clearance issues so I reverted to the normal mounts.
The body is currently off the chassis so I have time to think about things.
I haven't had a good look at the brace but I have thought about shaving down the middle section so that the brace remains in place, albeit thinner in the affected area, or even sliding the brace forward away from the box .I guess I will find out when I drop the body on.

Thanks Brad.
I guess I should have said it was a 63 Avanti. I'm sure there are a few who have fit these onto R2 motors, I was hoping there may be way around the problem without removing the brace.
I will have to do some thinking by the sounds of it.

Hello All
Is it true that if you install an R3 airbox that you need to remove the hood brace so the hood closes or atleast doesn't rub ?
Thanks
