  1. Some of the early Studebaker Avantis had a problem with incorrectly adjusted windshield wiper linkage. This condition, if not corrected, would show itself up as stress cracks around the left wiper pivot....True?

  2. I'll say true.

IIRC, A couple of things happen mechanically when the key is turned to on but the start wiring is activated through the switch in the column lower area.

    TRUE...is correct!

  3. Well, the answer to this question is FALSE, Cafarro's Avanti had unusual composite headlamps installed into an even more unique 'bubbled out' fiberglass nose panel. I wonder where this special Avanti is today?

  4. Gunslinger & brad pretty much got this one. Answer would be NO..(on the 'Vette)...Expected competition at the time was the Ford Thundebird and the Buick Riviera. (I get GlennW's point, but the Corvette, being a two passenger car, really puts it into a different class.) Avanti83 'iced' it!

  5. Boy, that's a tough one. I worked for the ad agency and don't remember what the cover said, but I do remember the color of the car. Do you?

Just a guess from an old picture......was the New York Avanti white?
