No factory warranty due to the specialized nature of the engines.
Exactly!....No factory warranty on R3 or R4 engine.

I was thinking that I have an "X" member saved here that could be welded into that Lark frame to create an Avanti frame....but the ad mentions it's from a four door, so it would need to be shortened also. Still doable!

No, the boost is dependent on the impeller to scroll cover clearence. But you're right, if the impeller drags on the cover it won't last long!
Agreed!...Shimming back the impeller is done for increased supercharger boost. You make a good point about getting it too close to the rear plate!

The zinc additive is a good idea for any 'flat tappet' equipped engine. But I don't think that's the problem here. More than likely your Avanti engine needs a valve lash adjustment. That probably hasn't been done in a long time. And Avanti 'R' engines, with their performance camshaft, need this attention more frequently than a normal Stude V8. (As the engine warms up the valve lash increases)

There are four 'most likely' places for an Avanti Powershift transmission to leak fluid. (due to high mileage).....Name three of them!
-
When a rebuilder 'shims the impeller back against the plate' while working on a Paxton supercharger, what he's doing is adjusting the position of the impeller on its shaft for supercharger longevity....True?

The left side grille directs more air to the drivers side fresh air vent. The console was cooled from the right side grille. A Console Cooling Kit was made available for earlier models.
Hmmmm....now that you mention it, by George I think you're RIGHT!
-
False...it directs cooling air to the automatic transmission if the car is equipped with one. No automatic...no function.
You hit the proverbial nail smack on its head!
-
The second cowl grille, located in front of the driver, (a 1964 Studebaker Avanti update), serves no real function on non-A/C equipped Avanti models....True?
-
The front brake flexible hoses are interchangeable between all '64 Studebaker passenger car models, whether equipped with disc or drum brakes.....True?
