Right!, The Dunlop calipers were bolted solid...a different ball game from the 'forgiving' sliding type.

Except for the different finish on the face of the buttons, a '63 Lark headlamp switch can be interchanged with a '63 Avanti headlamp switch....true?
-
The Bendix-Dunlop disc brake, as found on Studebaker Avantis, used an early version of the now common 'sliding brake caliper'.....True?

You're..... "Right On The Money"!

No other thoughts here?

Actually, the answer is false....simply because of a clearance problem at the right inner fender skirt area on a GT Hawk. (40A alternator has considerably larger housing)
-
True
True!

Both true and false. It was a Chrysler 300-F, not a Newport. Andy claimed 760 horsepower from the engine with two Paxton blowers. He set a two-way record on the Daytona Beach sand with an average speed of 172.166 mph.
That's what we were looking for.....A 300 not a Newport model...well done!

-
No other guesses on this question?

That's close enough for us Bob. An Avanti with Powershift automatic can be push started because this transmission is equipped with a 'rear pump'. (driven off the output shaft) Rear pumps were eliminated in most automatic transmissions back in the seventies. The Avanti automatic also has a 'front pump',of course,.....and it's a single stage affair.
-
Unlike vehicles with newer automatic transmissions, a Studebaker Avanti with Powershift automatic trans can be push started due to its unique 'two stage' front pump....True?
-
'In a pinch' a 1963 Studebaker Avanti Prestolite alternator can be used as a replacement on a '63 GT Hawk....True?
-
Exactly!...Too slippery....answer to this one is FALSE.
-
Right!....not all that different from the other Studes.
-
The answer IS false....but they were not sourced from AMC either....does anyone out there know the make and model of vehicle these lamps did come from?
-
Hmmm! I'll call Mr. Thibeault on this....The jury's out till then.
-
