  1. Both true and false. It was a Chrysler 300-F, not a Newport. Andy claimed 760 horsepower from the engine with two Paxton blowers. He set a two-way record on the Daytona Beach sand with an average speed of 172.166 mph.

    That's what we were looking for.....A 300 not a Newport model...well done!

  2. That's close enough for us Bob. An Avanti with Powershift automatic can be push started because this transmission is equipped with a 'rear pump'. (driven off the output shaft) Rear pumps were eliminated in most automatic transmissions back in the seventies. The Avanti automatic also has a 'front pump',of course,.....and it's a single stage affair.
