  1. Before Studebaker's new Avanti was unveiled at the 1962 new car auto show in New York City, it sat for a few days on the auditorium floor under a cover that proclaimed "America's Most Advanced Automobile"...True?

  2. On R3 Avantis, Studebaker used the same upper control arms with threaded steel inner bushings as used on '51-'52 Studebaker cars. But '51-'52 cars also used a LOWER control arm with threaded steel inner bushings. The reason Stude engineers opted not to use the '51-'52 lower control arm on R3 Avantis was due to not having enough of these earlier lower arms in stock.....True?

  3. The answer is actually.....FALSE! But it's sort of a trick question (apoligies) Factory service replacement blocks more often than not didn't come with an oil filter of any type. A block off plate covered the oil filter adapter mounting area and the engine would (will) run just fine that way. Or, the plate could be removed and replaced with the adapter, and a spin on filter could be installed.
