  1. Summit has some that may be smaller and still look ok. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/svr-xrpt200?seid=srese1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt6mZ4_CEkgMV56taBR0JxhG5EAQYDCABEgJRhPD_BwE
  2. IIRC, when I installed Turner's kit, the instructions said to grind off the high spot on the GM calipers.
  3. Definitely an issue of some kind. I and several others have access, but most don't. Unusual low level of activity. My email to admin@forum.studebakerdriversclub.com did not go through.
  4. I suppose this was in spite of your vast experience with web servers, PHP, cloud computing, and outstanding people skills.
  5. Looks like it is back. New post by DTHolder @ 12:10 p.m.
  6. I am not disparaging either of the forum admins. I appreciate all the hard work they do to keep the sites running. Just pointing out that most, if not all, forums have issues from time to time. Ed, you seem to have a serious issue with Clark @ the SDC forum. Perhaps instead of attacking, you could volunteer to help. I am still confused on why the SDC forum continues to work for me and, apparently, no one else. Perhaps it is because I never log out?
  7. another instance of AOAI forums being down. This one July 2024:
  8. Just to remind everyone, the AOAI forum has had issues as well. One I experienced just last October. seems to be the nature of the beast.
  9. Tried wife's iPhone 16. Can't get to forums. Main SDC page has forum unavailable message. Don't know if the message is new or left over from previous outage. Tried again from my S25, and it is still working!
  10. I used the SDC forums contact page and sent email to webmaster. I don't understand why it is working for me and not others. I did notice that other than my 2 test posts, there is no activity since sometime around 6:00 p.m. EST yesterday.
  11. Just posted again. this time under General:
  12. Using S25 phone. Just posted this:
  13. I am confused. It has been working fine for me all morning.
  14. Don't have any experience with hydro boost on Avanti, but did have it on Dodge Cummings 1 Ton and Airstream motorhome. Worked well for those larger, heavier vehicles. For those who don't know, hydro boost brakes are powered by the power steering pump, not engine vacuum.
  15. Just curious, what time was the outage? I was able to access several times on the 31st.
  16. Just guessing, but may have rolled back to previous version. Current version of vBulletin is 6.1.5. SDC version is now 5.7.5.
  17. SDC forums is back!
  18. IIRC, the SDC forums uses vBulletin. There was a major update released recently. I don't know if it self or cloud hosted. My guess is cloud as it is more expensive to self host and maintain a bank of servers. Ed, seems like you have quite a beef with the current SDC admin. I am sure Clark is doing the best he can. Do you have any credentials to opine on the technical aspects? FWIW, I have B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S. Computer Science, and graduate studies in Computer Science and engineering. I have been in the computer business over 50 years with many certifications such a Sun Certified Java Programmer, Oracle Certified Data Base Administrator, Computer Information Security Professional ...
  19. Back to the outage. From what we know, an update was scheduled by however is hosting the forum. This could have gone horribly wrong. It is also possible that the host was "hacked". In any case, more than the SDC forum is affected. The SDC administrator would not have any control over either of those situations. If hacked, the SDC is not high value, so is not the likely target.
  20. I understand your frustration. As an unpaid volunteer, I administer the campground WiFi/Internet system. We have over 200 users. Let there be a slow down, or heaven forbid an outage, and I am the devil incarnate. I should demand that they triple my salary! As an acquaintance of mine that administers a different park said, "I could spell IT, so now I am it.
  21. Do not know the admin's salary, but the median salary nationwide is around $115,000 for IT professionals, according to Glass Door. This seems reasonable. When I retired in 2012, my salary was $120,000 for enterprise architect.
  22. The sway bar bushings are hard to fit even for stock. I do the ones on the frame first, using a jack to get them place. Then the ones on the a frames.
  23. They did post an outage warning a couple of days ago. If you just hit the main page, https://studebakerdriversclub.com/ you get the following:
  24. look on page 40 of the parts book. part numbers 1558666 and 1558315. the diagram does not show this explicitly.
  25. your high idle could be caused by a throttle kicker with a vacuum leak. replacing it should help. the way the stock kicker works is that high vacuum in the engine pulls the plunger back. as vacuum drops, like when the engine is about to stall, the plunger goes back out to increase engine rpm.
