  1. dont think I like the idea of cranking on bolts to put that kind of constant strain on the body. I will try to bend the bumper tomorrow. Thanks regnalbob for the pictures and the measurements.
  2. Installed the rear bumper and have excessive side clearance. Over an inch from the fiberglass to the mounting pad on the bumper. I think I need to bend the bumper. What is the standard gap? As it is the bolts do reach.
  3. The mounting holes are there where one was in place
  4. I have a 63 Avanti. I have two sets of Lazy S's. One set is silver and the other is gold letters, Which is correct for the 63 Avanti?
  5. I was missing 1 of the trim connector for the window trim on my 63. My cousin made me one. Thanks Ted
  6. looking for a 63 grill
  7. My 63 has power windows at least partially. the motors are there but no wires or switches. Will the manual regulators from another Studebaker work with the Avanti?
  8. On my 63 the fiberglass behind glass is faded black paint. How did these come from the factory?
  9. rolling frame, could find no rust in the frame other than surface rust. body is decent shape with some damage just behind the driver side front wheel opening. drivers side hog trough has a puncture hole less than a quarter size no damage on the passenger side. clear title.
  10. the 63 avanti r 1107 that I have the 4 and R 2983 that I have has the 5 levers. 1107 is a parts car so I could exchange them if it is certain that it would have come with the earlier version. Can anyone with a serial number close to my 2983 confirm what there car has?
  11. When did the 63 change from 4 levers with one set being 2 levers with two 1/2 handles to 5 levers with alternating heights?
  12. the filler tube does not align properly with the tank. the car is a 63 and I believe the tank is a avanti two. The tank tube is smaller in diameter as well.
  13. Thanks. I have the schematics but they do not show where the loom actually passes thru the body. Was this channel in the body below the fuel tank used for the wire loom? will have to pull the carpet to see if the channel continues
  14. Working on a 63 started but not completed by someone else. I found the wire loom for the rear of the car laying above the fuel tank with no connector just cut wires. I found a connector under the dash withe the same wire colors. From the tank enclosure where did the wire loom exit and where would it have entered into the dash cavity to connect to the rest of the wire loom. My signal switch and horn wires exit the steering column with bullet connectors on each wire with no corresponding connectors for them to connect to. There is a unused 6 prong connector with similar but not exact color wires. was there a missing connector that mated these two together? Thanks for any information. Pictures of your wire looms would be appreciated
