Factory production data from the Studebaker Museum indicate the two Bonneville Hawks were the only 1964 Hawks with the factory painted Sport Roof.

Looks like a good solution. Seems like it would help the air conditioning be more effective. Mike

Nelson Are you still looking. I have one, cracked on one side. Steve

Yes, that's what I had in mind. I know that a knock sensor detects the ping and can be tested by tapping something metal near the sensor with a hammer, but I'm not familiar with how the "signal" is read, or if a computer must be used to read it.

Randy Bohanon is selling a 1963 Avanti R2 automatic he recently had restored at NW Avanti. I saw the car in 2024 just after the restoration was finished. It's a beautiful car. Turquoise over turquoise. https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/sale-want-found-cars/2067012-1963-avanti-r2-for-sale

Youāre going to have to spend more nickels to get to the correct answer Mark!!! Any other thoughts on this one?
-
I will guess $29,885.00 and not a nickel more.

Definitely different shroud ā¦ā¦Avanti factory used standard Chevy fan & fan clutch.
-
Is the fan shroud the same on a Avanti 2 as the original? I have a SBC in my 63 wondering about what fan and fan clutch to use, fan diameter?

Thank you Staceyā¦. No one knows it all⦠especially me!! I myself find Avanti trivia extremely interesting when it spurs a forum member like āNelsonā, for example, to share some of his vast knowledge and insightsā¦. several others members will also occasionally toss their hats into the ringā¦ā¦ I think this type of back & forth keeps the interest brewing concerning an automobile first produced sixty three years ago!!!
-
It does sound niceā¦. and you are CORRECT!

I like the sound of #1. Paula Louise

I'm just an Avanti owner who comes to this site every day to see and read what others have to say or ask questions about. I do not know a lot about the early days of manufacturer and have no clue about much I read here. But I do find MFG trivia questions interesting and sometimes I actually "guess" the correct answer. I enjoy his effort and time to research the questions presented. So I say Thank You and hope you continue asking questions.

Brad⦠To me, the issue here isnāt this question itself, but the fact that over the past 10 years a ācertain personā will only enter into one of my trivia questions if he sees a chance to correct meā¦. Perhaps Iām a bit āthin skinnedā about it, but Iām simply tired of this sort of behavior. I started this trivia thing back in 2014 for my own and others casual amusement⦠and I certainly donāt have all the answers! Other Avanti forum members who have participated in trivia over the years have brought forward many interesting thoughts just from random questions which I have posted. Also, although I started the ball rolling, it was always my hope other Avanti forum members would post their own trivia questions⦠but frankly that has hardly ever happened, so you see continual posts from āmfgāā¦..mainly to keep things rolling! Over the years Iāve requested that ācertain personā to stay off my posts⦠but he has disregarded my request, and dives in whenever he sees his chance. Perhaps Avanti Trivia has run itās course, and the program should simply be retired?ā¦Ed

Bowler Transmissions make an excellent stand alone torque converter lockup wiring kit.

Fuse keeps blowing in the temp, gas guage, tach and shift light circuit
brad replied to Jim S's topic in 1965-83 Avanti
Check the shift light where the wire goes into the socket for the bulb. Since the light moves with the shifter, it can break at that point and short out to the case of the light which is ground.
