According to the results of the survey from MFG Co. Studebaker and not GM is the answer to your question. If you disagree you can post the page from the Morrison-Gottlieb survey that you have showing that GM is the answer to your question.

It’s good to see that you are now posting the entire document when you quote a source… as opposed to just posting a few lines, or simply one page as you’ve done in the past. I credit myself for this improvement in your communication skills… Be well!

Today I was finally able to get back to working on the brakes. This evening I bench bled the new master cylinder I mentioned in my May 19 post above. When I took it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised that it's actually an aluminum master cylinder, and it does not have a hole pre-drilled and threaded for the brake light switch. That's just fine, because I removed the hydraulic brake light switch from the circuit and I'm installimg a dedicated mechanical switch at the brake pedal arm. I uncovered and aired out the car a few weeks ago. I was surprised how rusty the new cast iron master cylinder had become since last fall. The aluminum MC will probably stay looking nice for a longer time. Over the next few days I'll get the MC installed and start bleeding the system for the umpteenth time. When I get to the rear calipers, I'm going to remove at least one of the bolts and make sure the bleed valve is not pointing down as it is now with the bolts installed.

Thanks for your input Jim and Wildfelr. Wildfelr's solution is creative and well executed I must say- especially burying front Indicators in those big holes ! Jim, your solution is straightforward and commonsense, but since I'm a stickler for keeping original parts, I'd probably end up Fabbing a new piece. Nobody has any info on what's actually inside of these Buffers?

Well, I’m completely satisfied with Stacey’s answer… SUGGESTION….do a bit more research concerning your ‘survey’s’ findings, and get back to me as soon as possible!
-
No, unless you show the survey results you are wrong.
-
So, you think Stacey is wrong?
- Yesterday
-
To prove GM is the correct answer.
-
Why would I do that? This trivia question has been answered correctly by Stacey… General Motors!

MARK started following pictures of a 63 R1

While looking through my hard drive for something not Avanti related, I came across pictures taken maybe in 2010 of a gold R1 Avanti for sale in Toms River, N.J. the only ID tag that I photographed of is..RQ-1155. I tried to buy but at the last literal minute the son showed up when I was about to get the title for a cash buy and wanted 4 times the offered amount for a car sitting outside for at least a decade. So, if any member knows of the gold R1 RQ1155, let me know & I will foward pictures from probably 2010 Mark

I have posted details of the survey from MFG Body Co. Now it is time for you to post copies of the 1966 Morrison-Gottlieb survey that you have.
-
regalbob… You have now posted it under my “Avanti’s Second” trivia question…A question concerned with a different survey. SUGGESTION…. Start another trivia question related to the ‘survey’ which you have information on!
-
I posted that under Avanti Sales and you replied to the post. Here it is again. Maybe you can post more details concerning your 'survey'.
-
Postscript… The survey referred to in this trivia question was sent to a few thousand Studebaker Avanti (new car) purchasers in mid-March 1966… This questionnaire was sent by William H. Gottlieb, of the New York City Morrison-Gottlieb public relations firm.
-
The survey which Regalbob posted is not the 1966 Morrison-Gottlieb survey this trivia question was based on…. Regslbob should post more details concerning his ‘survey’.

According to the list isn't Studebaker the answer or am I missing something? Pb
-
-
I've got it! It's $582
-
I jut send you PM and I see that behind envelope. Plese send me new one 😃
-
You are correct about that! That survey indicated that over half of respondents bought Studebaker Avantis because of advanced styling!
-
I thought one of the reasons the Avanti was developed was to try and shed the stodgy image of the Studebaker lineup and breathe some excitement into their brand. I’ll say false. Mike
-
That's strange since when I click on mine, I see messages both ways.

On my '78, I simply cut the frame extensions just forward of the body support point. Installed a '63-'64 grill. Quick and easy. Looks MUCH better IMHO.
