Dunkin Posted February 14, 2023 Report Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the rear seat, top and bottom? Thank you. Cancel I pulled it out. Edited February 15, 2023 by Dunkin No longer needed.
tanda62 Posted February 15, 2023 Report Posted February 15, 2023 is this what you are looking for? These are pictures of both before they are going to be restored one of these days.
Dunkin Posted February 15, 2023 Author Report Posted February 15, 2023 Yes, thank you, I went ahead and pulled them out. Your pictures are very good, I have to get them reupholstered. Thanks again for your time.
John Brissette Posted February 16, 2023 Report Posted February 16, 2023 In my 50 years of Avanti ownership and parts collecting, I've never seen an Avanti rear seat that wasn't very rusty.
Dunkin Posted February 16, 2023 Author Report Posted February 16, 2023 Yes, mine look like the pictures. Thought about using rust converter on them. Also, no well nuts or bolts.
Rick Allen Posted February 19, 2023 Report Posted February 19, 2023 I just purchased a '64 R2 which was last inspected in 1972 and had sat in a un-heated garage (cement floor) until it was purchased and put into a storage container 5 years ago; and then I bought it 3 weeks ago. The seats, door panels, etc. had mold on them, I cleaned them several times with Spray 9, and then treated them with Zymol cream leather conditioner, I was luck in the fact that, aside from some minor surface rust, the seat bottoms were relatively rust free,,,
Dunkin Posted February 26, 2023 Author Report Posted February 26, 2023 Rick, yours, look pretty good.
RoyG Posted March 25, 2023 Report Posted March 25, 2023 My seats were so rusty that the smaller springs in many cases have fallen apart. Any idea where to get replacement springs?
mfg Posted March 25, 2023 Report Posted March 25, 2023 You may find something similar at your local hardware store.
MARK Posted March 27, 2023 Report Posted March 27, 2023 they look beautiful, I never heard of Zymol cream
