Fourward Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 Looking for 2 starter bolts for my 63 Avanti. The parts manual just says special bolts. Look long, 1/4 in diameter? and have a straight screwdriver head? I will buy them from you plus pay shipping. None on my car.
Dwight FitzSimons Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) I assume you are looking for the two bolts that hold the starter onto the bellhousing? Those bolts don't have a screw slot, they have a hex head (3/4 - 13/16"). They are rather large, closer to 1/2 inch in diameter. In order to not have them your starter would have to not be on the engine. Sorry, I don't have and loose starter bolts, just thought I would pass on some info. --Dwight Edited September 22, 2022 by Dwight FitzSimons
Fourward Posted September 21, 2022 Author Report Posted September 21, 2022 Thanks for the description. No, my starter is not on the bell housing. I got the car in pieces, I am working on putting the engine together. Many bolts are missing.
Leo B Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) You can take a measurement. Starter collar/flange + Bellhouse. 2 Bolt and nut. If bolts are little bit too long - does not matter. Edited September 21, 2022 by Leo B
brad Posted September 21, 2022 Report Posted September 21, 2022 I'm pretty sure he's asking for the through bolts from the end plate through the main armature housing into the nose piece.
Fourward Posted November 13, 2022 Author Report Posted November 13, 2022 No, starter bolts to bell housing. Perfect picture, thank you.
Kyle Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 Where can you find these bolts. Who has them. Regards.
Fourward Posted August 30, 2023 Author Report Posted August 30, 2023 Phil Harris, Fairborn Studebaker has them. Bob Ziff, Avanti Parts, Morrisville PA may also have them.
