RQB3263/81/305.... Amazon has the book for 26$.......... 2 bolt///4 bolt mains doesnt make any difference at all itsa a cruiser not a race car...a torque cam is a good idea, sold by all cam mfg also called an RV cam it will come with lifters an new valve springs ...I used Crane cam lifters and springs....that mod will help if you have an overdrive (700r4) trans but is good in any case..... my anemic 305 loves it with the OD.... RQB3263/81/305.... YOUR ENGINE IS actually a low mileage re build and should be very straight forward. If your lucky It may go together standard (std) the machine shop will determine that and provide the matching bearings/rings etc... and for a couple extra bucks they will even build up the short block for you...only brass freeze plugs and dont forget the one behind the flywheel....paint all cast iron parts etc before assembly....keep in touch here ...RQB3263

RQB3263/81/305.... I suggest you go for it ....its not rocket science... ive done a dozen over the last 60 years....one was a 92 Buick roadmanter (GM350)...2 bolt main/roller cam and 2 barrel throttle body injection from the factory........ and other Ford 460, 4.3 chevy v6, seagrave v-12 to mention a couple....when I could the first thing I did was ...BUY THE BOOK, and read it twice... "how to rebuild your chevy v8".... second.... locate a reputable machine shop.... third ...read the book again... fourth ... enlist help from friends .... have fun... pic coming

well I just looked at Tanda62 ebay post..........wow and I have visited to this shop.... awesome equipment and very clean .... and 30 miles from my home.... being a long time hot rodder/fabricator/builder I dont believe you could build that chassis to that level for anywhere close to that price ....It looks like all the Avanti 50s/60s vintage problems have been solved..... its just one big check instead of many many small ones and no labor ( or in my case injuries).....BILL RQB3263

One of several aftermarket systems available for other vehicles could probably be adapted into Avanti....Mustang II comes to mind...however...the complete front susp from Ford Crown Vic has been used by hot rodders for a long time and they bolt in to the CV ...a friend here in N Florida used it in the retro truck.... you can call SKIP WALKER 352-372-8697 for details but please keep in mind he is a very busy guy...in fact im on his waiting list for work on RQB3263 next week i hope....that is the route i would take if i was down to the bare frame and 25 yrs younger.....you all keep up the good work

BILL RQB3263.... AWESOME BIG PROJECT...The silver/gray color is beautiful I hope you retain it it is perfect....with the body off this is about your only opportunity to install a modern front suspension.... these opportunities are rare and you will love your Avanti even more....great keep the pics coming ... BILL

RQB3263/81/305.......My experience with dryers is that you can "overhaul" them yourself for zero cost....what is inside is a bag of silica-gel,,... put it in the oven at 200 degrees overnight and reinstall it.... that will rejuvenate the sg and your good to go.....
