I believe 3650 was the prototype for the run of 25 20th Anniversary Special Edition models (numbers 3801-3825) (1983 model year).
-
Late in 2006 as a 2007 model year Avanti.
-
Are you including race cars (GT) or just normal production cars in your query?
-
Without looking it up, 34 strikes me as the correct answer.

Thanks for that page (that I do not believe that I have). It looks like the '63 Wagonaire that I owned for nine years. Mine was; Daytona, blue mist metallic, back up lights, wheelcovers, whitewalls, roof rack, blue bucket searts - plus - 289 V8, AT, ps, pdb, radio, heater, Sta-Bars, etc.
-
Binders was common at that time, but I do not remember if Studebaker used that term.
-
As long as the car has not been titled and is still on its MSO, it is legally still a "new" car.
-
I do not believe that any Avanti speedometers were "calibrated" as speedometers for police cars were.

All through here?
I believe that you mean to say; ---ft-lbs per degree of twist.

False - I do not believe that the gauge will "...work more accurately..., however, I do believe that you will get a more acccurate measure of engine condition/operation.

Lou - I appreciate your efforts on this forum.
When I first got to the "new" forum, I thought that there was something wrong on my end since I did not notice a post about a change.
One thing that I miss is the birthdays. Since I have been on the forum, I only noticed one member, that has his age included, that is older than I am. I think that this points up that Avanti owners are younger than Studebaker owners, in general. Of course, it is 50 years since a Studebaker was built and only about ten years since an Avanti was built.

I think that you can only identify it as a Powershift that was used in either an Avanti or a floor shift Lark type. The Powershift and heavy duty automatics had coolant lines (not just air cooled). The Powershift automatic has its shift lever pointing up.

ISTR No. 2.
-
Probably No. 1. It is a closed body coupe on a convertible frame/chassis.

I can't get together with $8500 for a "project" 1974 Avanti.
I do not think that it would look too bad if the bumper were painted body color.
-
There was a very nice 2005 Avanti convertible from NYS at this year's SDC Convention.

I do NOT see how this is a "parody" of the Motor Trend cover.
The name of the stylist that transformed the 1953 Starliner into the Gran Turismo Hawk was Brooks Stevens (not "Brook Stevens").
The art work looks nice on first glance until I noticed that the Gran Turismo has a 1962 front with a 1964 roof.

I thought that the Avanti GT (#28) was a 1983 model (as well as the Daytona Avanti [also #28]).
-
Even though they may have been the same color, I doubt that they were the same paint. Avantis were painted with lacquer and other Studebakers were painted with enamel.

Before switching to PPG urethane exterior paint, all 'Blake' Avantis were painted at the factory in R-M acrylic lacquer.....True?
I am thinking that the early Avantis were acrylic lacquer and Blake used a PPG Deltron paint system.
-
By 1983, Twin traction (TT) was no longer offered as a factory option on Avantis......True?
Technically, true. Limited slip differentials were offered (even standard on some) on later Avantis, but not under the Studebaker name of Twin Traction.

According to my information, S/N RQA 0256 is the next to last 1968.
Are you sure on the year and Serial Number information?
Does your Avanti have side lights in the front fenders? A 1967 would not have them, but a 1968 would have them. I cant tell from the picture on my small screen.
I just checked John Hull's book and his information agrees with my decades old information.
EDIT: I just blew up the picture enough to see that your Avanti has side lights making it a 1968 model, or newer.

Actually, according to some early AOAI literature I have, Andy purchased that Avanti for his WIFE!....Answer...FALSE!
Like I said, "Andy bought" it.
Complete Avanti!

I dispute the premise of your statement in your question. Both headlight panel styles were not always available. That is why some cars have been rebuilt with a panel that is incorrect for the car.
