  1. Past hour
  2. It was available on one of the Avanti websites but I believe it's no longer active. If I still have a copy I'll post it...might take some time looking.
  3. Avanti Motors went to the 350 engine in 1970 with the start of the RQ-B series. The last few RQ-A models would still have used the 327. But...as already said...there could have been some unused until much later. The intake would likely have been what was standard on a Corvette of that year.
  4. Today
  5. My '66 has the 327/300 motor. The number on the intake manifold immediately behind the carburetor is 3872783; immediately under that is GM2. The number immediately in front of the distributor is J185. The carburetor is a Holley 4160. I don't believe the 327 was still manufactured in '78. GM was making the 350 by this time; perhaps Avanti Motors bought a bunch some years earlier and was still using them in '78 -- I don't know. The 327/300 had 2 'humps' on the front of the cylinder heads, one on each side; they were called 'Camel Hump' heads. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  6. Before I break anything, on my 89 coupe, how to remove the carpeted A/C box on pass side. I recently had car reupholstered/ recarpeted and potential screw locations are not visible. Where located and how many?
  7. That’s very interesting!
  8. What are the original carburetors and intake manifolds used on RQA 327 300hp engines? Height and ORIGINAL numbers are Important. Were Carters original equipment? How about a low profile intake manifold? I have seen Early RQA's with a Studebaker Avanti style air cleaner but don't know what carb its on (4 7/32 neck) ? Thanks RQA 217
  9. Gunslinger how does one get the rest of the spreadsheet?
  10. Thank you, I didn't it smelled fishy.
  11. I researched them earlier today - scammers. Hopefully you didn't buy anything.

  13. Yesterday
  14. That's okay I got a fan switch that works great from O'Reilly and it seems as though The air conditioner now works great so maybe it was just the fan switch that was a problem. But I did receive a link previously in this discussion of the correct switch to get for the temperature gauge if I need it
  15. Where would the pop rivet end connect into?
  16. Sorry abt that.. I guess that's why they don't show the front..
  17. I think there is enough room for you to drill a new hole and use a pop rivet to fix it, or maybe make a small L bracket to connect the 2 pieces.
  18. Oreilly Auto Parts sells the 3 speed Murray switch which works like a champ.
  19. I opened my Edge browser and in one of the windows with scrolling tabs, this popped up: https://www.chairish.com/maker/raymond-loewy?msclkid=b6f34baf462b18dc1ffa23b798695846

Okay, lemme kick in the clutch and try this again. Number 4, American Motors
  21. Problem solved, 4 amp fuse
  22. I don't know how much these will help...they're from some time ago and vendors could have changed or dropped their parts numbers...but it's what I have.
  23. Does anyone know as to whether a cross reference chart has ever been created, specifically one that will give the aftermarket parts numbers for Avanti parts that will fit our cars? I have a '72, and am looking for brake shoes/pads. A cross reference chart would really be handy to have on hand.
  24. Last week
  25. Frame on my driver's side window has separated It appears That there is a screw that anchors the right side of the frame top to the back side piece. It looks like the screw Has nothing left to anchor into and the inside rubber piece or wherever it is supposed to anchor is damaged. Is there anyway to effect a repair? Are there replacement vent window assemblies out there? I don't see any online but plan on contacting Dan booth tomorrow Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you
  26. I just installed the fan switch for my A/C. The switch is Murray 35701 and works good. Now the Temp gauge, the Tach, and the Fuel gauge does not work. Help. Does anyone have any suggestions on what went wrong because I installed the new gauge? Dan Williams 1972 RQB 1882
