Folks... I'm running up against a wall. I need to sell 2 and maybe 3 vehicles... I'm looking at B.A.T. but some of You have talked about Brokerage Firms and saying they charge around 10-15% (which is fine). Then there is Hemmings.. I've purchased from ''Streetside Classics'' in Atlanta in the past, They seem reputable.. So basically I'm asking who You all use and what Your experiences have been ...from a good and bad standpoint. Seems I'm very good at the purchase side of things, but kinda suck at selling.

2 weeks ago I loaded the '63 with luggage and goodies with my wife/co-conspirator and headed to my brother Mike's house in Boise with intentions of going to the Palm Springs meet where my cousin lives with her R2 4 speed. After looking over my brother's Avanti (the Gattaca car), he decided to accompany us. We left on April 1st stopping in Hawthorn, Nevada then on to Palm Springs. Mike's wife flew in Sunday and 2 more of my cousins came to town. We had a great time meeting many other wonderful people with just a love for the Avanti in common. These were 3 of my uncle Dan Skidmore's, cars finally together in one place. The confidence in the cars grew every day and the experience was fantastic. A once in a lifetime adventure for us. We returned home today with many miles and smiles to remember. Thanks to everyone who helped put this together. Rob Dudley

Looking for a rear bumper for my 63 and the hood support

Last national meet I attended was South Bend ‘17 ….Flew out to Indianapolis…. rented a nice new car….. Enjoyed the pleasant 100 mile drive north to South Bend, and the return drive after the meet……Dropped the rental car off…. Got back on the plane…….Back home in a couple hours…….VERY ENJOYABLE, STRESS FREE FEW DAYS! PS…. And riding in the tour bus around the Indy 500 track, and visiting the ‘500’ museum was wonderful!!!

You are right on. The last 2 national events made "a little" profit. Some donated back to help the ever increasing costs of operating AOAI and some back to the chapters for the same reason. The costs of operating the forums, website, legally required insurances, accountants, lawyer consulting fees, the magazine (one of the MOST expensive), support for chapters, etc., add up quickly. Inflation has had the same effect on AOAI as it has for each of us. AOAI doesn't charge anyone to attend the meets. The fees that are there, to be selected as an option, pay for the events such as tours, award dinners and entering your car to be professionally judged. You could attend one of these for no cost if you lived within driving distance and passed on the events. We added up our entire cost of this last event, which we consider a 7 day vacation, and it came to just under $1200. $600 of it was fuel driving our 2006 for nearly 2600 miles. The last cruise that we took was almost $2000 after the figure the costs to get to the ship and the all inclusive program. We consider the vacation well worth the time and money!

As you said, you have made this point before. That makes it important to you, but maybe less so for others. IMs exist for lots of reasons. I was on the SDC board of directors for a number of years and remember the lengthy and heated discussions of how to best accomplish their many requirements: parking for Studebakers, parking for others, indoor and outdoor flea market spaces, security, cars-for-sale parking, trailer parking, RV parking, tours, family amusements, economy hotels, upscale hotels, shuttle busses, conference and hospitality rooms, volunteer assignments, etc, etc. Some of us just go to look at the cars, see old friends and make a few new ones, and maybe drink a few beers. Most of us have budget limitations, but turning a profit is not a consideration. It takes all kinds.

Extremely nice and quite complicated body modifications performed on this ‘63 Stude Avanti… Jim Bunting truly is a craftsman! Considering this Avanti two seater is an R2 four speed car, it must go like a rocket with a couple hundred pounds of ‘body’ removed from it! GREAT CAR!!!!!

Looks to be a promising project Avanti to restore…. at an attractive price!

My reason for posting the Pix really doesn't matter if it's a AI Gen or not. The concept is totally do-able and really not a stretch. Wide Body Kits,, basically the fender flares are not cost prohibitive and are available in fiberglass... A easy thing to adapt to our already fiberglass cars.. Then wheels and tires and about a 3" drop. Might as well use new drop spindles and the likes for the rear. An easy project overall. Ron.. That Pix is way too extreme and a flared mess. Cut em in half as far as depth and Ya got something.

This particular AI generated wide body car is a fun take on alternative style. It’s extremely wide wheel base width and spoilers are interesting for sure. In fact I have plans to make my own front and rear fiberglass spoilers plus a radically modified hood to increase airflow in the engine compartment on the R2 that I’m doing a restomod restoration on. I won’t be modifying the wheel base specs and will be using the slightly modified newly rebuilt R2 engine / transmission. There will be body modifications in addition to the spoilers. The interior mods are nearing completion as far as what can be done prior to a complete body strip and paint and will surprise many. For me, this is an exercise of do it myself creation, improvement and change. For many, it will be rad. For the purists, whom I respect and support completely, they may not approve, but most likely will be impressed.
