Accelerator pedal getting very hot

Hi, 

First: I got my Avanti registered and on the road and it is great fun to drive it! (Last week two rides with a total of ~650 km)

But there are still some things I need to improve. One is that the accelerator (gas) pedal is getting quite hot when driving for a longer time on the highway. I sometimes need to take the foot from the pedal for a few seconds to relax a bit from the heat. And my shoes have quite a good sole.
Has anyone eperienced something similar and have you any recommendations for me how I can improve that?

Check the firewall gromet to see if it's still there or if you have any other issues in that area.

More commonly called the accelerator boot.

Before I placed this grommet, my right shoe was toasted. With grommet, this was over. Get one or make one yourself from a grommet you've laying around.

I sprayed consol both side totally 2 layer Lizars Skin. Actually I used this total body front area inside and underside +  firewall inside.

4-speed shifter, console and firewall are no longer hot.

Looks like a good solution. Seems like it would help the air conditioning be more effective. Mike
