mfg Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 The '63 Studebaker Avanti roll bar is indeed a concealed, fully padded, round steel bar.....True?
mfg Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 Rob, Gun,...Exactly,...not round ...stamped steel. answer.... FALSE!
brad Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 part of it is round, the part inside the 1/4 panel down to the hog trough

64Avanti Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 To call it a roll bar is being a little generous but without it the roof would have no strength.
plwindish Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Compare it to other cars that had roll bars from the factory in 63. Yes, that's right, there were no other cars that came with a roll bar in 63!
ron@crall.com Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Don't know that I'd call it "Concealed" The cover is pretty intrusive. Roll bar standards for racing in the early 60's were pretty minimal, it might even have qualified.
