Quad headlights were dropped from original Studebaker Avanti design because of .....?.....

1) Poor looks......2) Complication......3) Cost.....or......4) Too much "Glitz"

Glad that they were...quad headlamps ruin the simplicity and elegance of the Avanti design.

I agree with you, however, if the Studebaker Avanti had quad headlights from day one...do you think we would today consider THAT look to be normal.....and dual headlights a strange, 'odd' look ?????:huh: ;)

I thought one of the quad light designs was very nice. 

The others looked average.

How could it have been "cost" when, only 5 years earlier, Studebaker spent the money to add quad headlamps to the '58 Studebaker sedans?  I say the styling department personnel all were still having nightmares about those 1958 quad headlamps.
