False, it was Arnold. At least the brother that was involved with Nate on the Avanti II. Now I can't say if there was a third brother named Arthur.......
We'll go with 'Arnold'!.......Answer...FALSE!

Make sure the upper kingpin bearings are well greased? (Just plain guessing now
)
And a good guess it is!!!.....However, the true answer here is that normally, the specs in a factory shop manual should be followed 'TO THE LETTER'!.....
In the case of the Studebaker Avanti though, Studebaker issued a service letter in May of '64, with revised specs, requesting that the original specs in the factory shop manual NOT BE USED!!..........Answer...FALSE!

Were they driven to the new owners location, as opposed to being 'transported' on a trailer?
That's about right!, a few owners wanted their cars 'shook down', and the oil changed, before taking delivery.

To obtain the same amount of 'deflection' as steel in an Avanti's fiberglass body panel , it would have to be....?.... as thick as a comparable body panel.
1) twice.....2) six times........3) twenty times......4) thirty times......5) fifty times...

How is it possible that some 'Altman Avantis' were delivered to their first owner with one thousand or so miles on them, but were still considered to be brand new cars?

Are we all through here?

Those are GREAT photos!...Thanks for posting!

if someone today actually assembled a 'true' R4 Studebaker V8, re-creating ALL the original Studebaker factory specs in this dream engine, what would be the MOST impractical thing about such an engine, if it were to be used in a 'daily driver'?

Nate Altman's brother's name was Arthur......True?

I wonder if it's a trick question,
My answer is yes, they use a little cover to replace the oil filter base mounting on the block . The cover allows the oil to flow through the passages and continue on its route. A partial flow filter off the head is used to filter the oil.
Especilally handy on rhd cars were the reach rod strikes the oil filter and restricts your turning ability.

Nope, no trick question!....You got it just right!....Answer...TRUE!

While #4 would have been a great name (imagine the ads they could have come up with

Yes!...Pax-trac was the brand name!

When Paxton was manufacturing ball drive superchargers (such as the SN-60) they recommended using their own 'in house' blower fluid...The Paxton fluid was named...........?
1) Pax-grip...........2) Pax-loc..........3) Pax-trac.....or.......4) Happy-Balls

It's an easy job to convert a 'full flow' Studebaker V8 engine into a NON full flow engine ......True?

False. To achieve the best steering, after adjusting the box per the manual then you need to be adjusting the power steering control valve...........
I know, you were not talking about power steering because not all Avanti's had power steering.
Paul, you got the answer right, (false) however, the reason you gave (although a good one) really isn't "it".
Any other thoughts here?

ANSWER.....Mr. Andrews said that in hindsight, he would have changed the 'protruding' front fender edges of the original Studebaker Avanti design to a flatter, more 'straight across' front end.

I'm a little surprised to hear that Brad....I always thought STP was TOO slippery, and would cause the drive element balls to slip and 'fry'!!
