  1. I know one thing for sure Peter...the fit of the deck lid with gasket and without gasket are two entirely different things!
  2. I'd ground to horizontal dash brace... possibly under one of the nuts supporting steering column.

    Avanti Box!

Yes exactly!.....In general use, rubber grommets with steel fuel lines passing through them can degrade with time...The '57 GH fuel delivery setup was pretty much 'bullet proof'! PS...As an economy measure, Studrbaker went to the 'grommet' setup on the 1958 Golden & Packard Hawks.
  5. Hmmm..I don't have one to check the prefix/suffix letters.....but according to someone we all recognize as quite knowledgeable, the GH's and Packard Hawk's were equipped with high stall converters!

  7. WOW!... the February '24 AOAI calendar car!..... Very late '64 square light' with all improvements....Gorgeous Avanti Maroon exterior finish...Halibrand style wheels with whitewalls....R2... Even folks that don't like Avantis (are there people like that?) would fall in love with this one!!

    Avanti Box!

What two features make the design of the carburetor air box used on the '57 Stude Golden Hawk superior to the carb air box design used for the Avanti R3 engine?

    Yes, that's it!...A sensible mod I think...Got one on my '63!
  10. What Ford part is quite often swapped into power steering equipped Studebaker Avantis to make the power steering system on these cars easier to service?
  11. Studebaker Avantis and other '63-'64 Studes equipped with Powershift transmissions were equipped with a high stall speed torque converter....This same torque converter was first used in 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawks.... True?

  22. On a Studebaker Avanti 'R' engine, the upper oil windage tray (baffle) is suspended by the 3rd (from the front) main bearing cap bolts.....True?

Yes...that's it exactly...opening the door to the Granatellis racing expertise...and all the superchargers Studebaker could ever hope for!
