That's okay I got a fan switch that works great from O'Reilly and it seems as though The air conditioner now works great so maybe it was just the fan switch that was a problem. But I did receive a link previously in this discussion of the correct switch to get for the temperature gauge if I need it

Where would the pop rivet end connect into?
-
Sorry abt that.. I guess that's why they don't show the front..
-
I think there is enough room for you to drill a new hole and use a pop rivet to fix it, or maybe make a small L bracket to connect the 2 pieces.

Oreilly Auto Parts sells the 3 speed Murray switch which works like a champ.

I opened my Edge browser and in one of the windows with scrolling tabs, this popped up: https://www.chairish.com/maker/raymond-loewy?msclkid=b6f34baf462b18dc1ffa23b798695846

Suddenly three instruments don't work
Dan Williams replied to Dan Williams's topic in 1965-83 Avanti
Problem solved, 4 amp fuse -
I don't know how much these will help...they're from some time ago and vendors could have changed or dropped their parts numbers...but it's what I have.
-
Does anyone know as to whether a cross reference chart has ever been created, specifically one that will give the aftermarket parts numbers for Avanti parts that will fit our cars? I have a '72, and am looking for brake shoes/pads. A cross reference chart would really be handy to have on hand.

A83 started following Vent WIndow Frame Separated
-
Frame on my driver's side window has separated It appears That there is a screw that anchors the right side of the frame top to the back side piece. It looks like the screw Has nothing left to anchor into and the inside rubber piece or wherever it is supposed to anchor is damaged. Is there anyway to effect a repair? Are there replacement vent window assemblies out there? I don't see any online but plan on contacting Dan booth tomorrow Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you

I just installed the fan switch for my A/C. The switch is Murray 35701 and works good. Now the Temp gauge, the Tach, and the Fuel gauge does not work. Help. Does anyone have any suggestions on what went wrong because I installed the new gauge? Dan Williams 1972 RQB 1882

wire connection from steering box to steering wheel shaft

Thanks. While my horn still works, I will rebuild the connection. The wire is completely missing between the two connection points. -
wire connection from steering box to steering wheel shaft
mfg replied to grant mills's topic in Avanti Information
That wire gives the horn button a good ground to chassis… Although your horn may work without it, it really should be there.. I’d re-connect it. -
i just noticed that my 84 Avanti has 2 stubs of wires on either side of a rubber isolator that separates the shaft from the steering box. I am guessing that at one time there was a wire connection there but have no idea when/how it broke or even the importance of it. Anyone have any ideas/reasons comments?
