Since the carpet has worn out and rotted over time, and the red & black carpet is not available (have not found after many years), I am happy to exchange it for a black one according to the serial number.

I figured out that I might be able to use 1981-1988 Monte Carlo. I will ask around at the National. If still no direct knowledge answer there, I will check out the size of what is available, that will work, including fitting in the well. Thanks for the tips.

Many thanks to all your replies. The inquiry was made by an Architectural Institute in Buffalo NY. RT Coles was apparently an early owner of R1830 and renowned Architect to whom the Institute is named after. He passed within the last few years and they wanted to create some kind of reliquary in memory of him. Another unique Avanti Owner...
