aardvark Posted yesterday at 05:27 AM Report Posted yesterday at 05:27 AM I saw this Pix on Facebook, and it is SOOO tempting to do one of these. I would NEVER cut up my '63' since it's 99.5% stock and that would be a Butchering.. But maybe there's a Project in my future.

Excepting that ‘park bench’ bolted to the rear deck, it does look pretty nice! Edited 19 hours ago by mfg Spell.
aardvark Posted 16 hours ago Author Report Posted 16 hours ago Yeah, I'm not much for the metal structured fin or front air dam either., but would rather see a creative painted and well formed metal made structure. But the stance, wheels, tires and fenders are quite nice. I had been considering my '63' as a daily driver (cept winter and salted roads) I have my concerns doing so with a stock vehicle as this one is. BUT... To take a post '64' with a Chev V-8, and buying one for around $12k in need of resto, would leave a lot of financial room for modding up something like this...... My '63 would easily sell for around $40k... leaving a lot of financial room to turn out something like this. Bet it could be done for about another $10-12k out of pocket.

I acknowledge that owners can modify their cars in any way that makes them happy. But, to me, the flares and spoilers are visual blight. The Avanti broke world speed records without spoilers and wider wheels over 60 years ago. What's the point other than "Look what I can do"? Edited 8 hours ago by psdenno
regnalbob Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Look closely at the picture. Is it a real Avanti or AI generated?
Mark63Avanti Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Looks AI generated to me. but if you squint with one eye you can get an idea of what a two seater Avanti could have resembled...

ronmanfredi Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago This particular AI generated wide body car is a fun take on alternative style. It’s extremely wide wheel base width and spoilers are interesting for sure. In fact I have plans to make my own front and rear fiberglass spoilers plus a radically modified hood to increase airflow in the engine compartment on the R2 that I’m doing a restomod restoration on. I won’t be modifying the wheel base specs and will be using the slightly modified newly rebuilt R2 engine / transmission. There will be body modifications in addition to the spoilers. The interior mods are nearing completion as far as what can be done prior to a complete body strip and paint and will surprise many. For me, this is an exercise of do it myself creation, improvement and change. For many, it will be rad. For the purists, whom I respect and support completely, they may not approve, but most likely will be impressed.
aardvark Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago My reason for posting the Pix really doesn't matter if it's a AI Gen or not. The concept is totally do-able and really not a stretch. Wide Body Kits,, basically the fender flares are not cost prohibitive and are available in fiberglass... A easy thing to adapt to our already fiberglass cars.. Then wheels and tires and about a 3" drop. Might as well use new drop spindles and the likes for the rear. An easy project overall. Ron.. That Pix is way too extreme and a flared mess. Cut em in half as far as depth and Ya got something.
