Mark63Avanti Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 I was wondering if anyone has added a hazard light option (both turn signals flashing) to Studebaker built Avanti? Early on in my ownership of this car would have been helpful, less needed now. From experience it's a nice safety feature.

I remember years ago there was an aftermarket flashing hazard lights kit that could be adapted to Stude Avantis (and probably any other vehicle from that period).. before the government made them mandatory.
Gunslinger Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 The ‘70 Avanti I had was equipped with what must have been an aftermarket 4-way flasher unit. Believe me…it was an abomination of wires and connections under the dash. If you’re compelled to have one…I would think Dan Booth at Nostalgic Motors is the guy to talk to.
regnalbob Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Studebaker offered this as an accessory. AC-3508 Flarestat Safety Signal Light Kit for $10.75.
Mark63Avanti Posted August 26 Author Report Posted August 26 The accessory AC-3508 says it's for all 1964 passenger cars except Avanti.

DobbM Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Sometime in the 80s my grandfather put in a third brake light. It was hooked up to the rear left and right leads to the bulbs. There was a module attached that would figure out if the lights were flashing (turn signal) and keep the brake light steady on. I just converted it to an LED mainly because it was in the way of the tiny rearview mirror. I realize it's not hazard lights, but if it triggers an idea...
