Was There EVER an Avanti EV?

Years ago I heard/read about a fella that was going to 'convert' his Avanti to an EV - not sure what happened in the end BUT check this out (if you bear with me):

At the AOAI Home page - click on "News & Events"  then click "2020 Virtual Car Show"  (Very Cool)

Now (the hard part) go down to the 27TH Entry - "Bill & Sonja ...... 1983 Avanti"

Sure looks like Sonja is CHARGING her Avanti at a Tesla Station!

Is Sonja putting us on or what?

I think Sonja is pulling our leg.

There is (at least) one EV converted Avanti, and it is running around Fairfield, California. I met the man and saw his car. Dave Heacock is who owned it when I saw the car, oh goodness, nearly exactly 9 years ago. His is a 1985 (car 4162).

Dave had a shop build the underpinnings for his creation, and the reason I was interested in it was because he had a C4 Corvette's independent rear suspension bolted in under his Avanti. I heard that's what the SCCA raced Mid-Ohio Avanti GT had. While I was living in the SF Bay Area I asked to see how Dave's particular build was done.

I wanted to install a C4's Dana 44 IRS under my creation, except now I feel I can make the C5-C7 Corvette transaxle and torque tube work, which is the direction I'll be heading with my project after this cold snowy season ends.

I met Dave Heacock and saw his conversion, as I was contemplating an EV conversion. He got most of the parts from Thunderstruck Motors in Sata Rosa ca. Brian Hall is the owner and put me in touch with Dave. I've seen one other EV converted avanti dropped onto a Prius chasis it was peptobismal pink. I have a fair amount of knowledge on the subject if anyone is interested

I might have got it wrong, Prius/leaf not sure, but it was pink like pepto

That was at Enertia.com but has gone silent now...     Nissan Leaf chassis, pink Avanti body....
