In 1960, Paxton Products offered short nosed centrifugal automotive superchargers in both self contained and direct oiling form…. True?

Not for certain but I’m going to say true. SN60 would be 1960 and I know they had external oiling systems earlier (engine oil) and self contained available for sure.

I had an SN60 that was stamped SN60 DO.  It had an oil pressure line fitting where the dipstick would go and a drain fitting on the bottom.

I ran it for a while and then replaced it with a self contained SN60. The engine oil made the supercharger hot hot all the time.

Yes guys TRUE… very few were built this way.. a carryover from the McCullochs …Bad deal if owner didn’t keep engine oil clean.

DO versions were generally yellow. One I had was very clean, but I could see how it would be a problem on neglected maintenance.
