Thank you,

How far away from the raised area on the trunk lid should edge of surface A be.  Or putting it another way how far from the outer edge of the trunk lid should the edge of surface A rubber be.

Thanks for posting this.... There is no close- up picture in the manual and my trunk seal was broken down and so rotted it was tough to tell how it was originally placed.  Now I understand; have been trying to orient it incorrectly- no wonder it wouldn't fit.  Anybody have a preference for rubber cement, or no big deal?

Or double sided tape?

3M makes a huge variety of adhesives designed for attaching weatherstripping, headliners, under-hood pads, etc.  They come in both tubes and spray cans.  For regular door and trunk lid weatherstripping, I prefer the normal black (or yellow) 3M weatherstrip adhesive in a tube.  Why reinvent the wheel?

Suggestion….. remove trunk lid and place on padded bench (inverted) so you aren’t fighting gravity)

Before loosening, run marking pen around eight mounting bolt washers so you don’t lose adjustment

After my second failed attempt at mounting the trunk weatherstrip in place- I finally thought of what you recommended- I guess everything deserves at least three attempts- thanks for your thoughts-it makes much more sense.
