(less mounting bolts, rivets, springs, spring anchors)

I come up with eight..this would include the upper & lower mount plates, and six 'flat' steel hinge plates or arms.....no?

Each mounting plate is made with two separate pieces.

OK - I was going to let this go (but) I don't think the  '89,s had these (at least not the convertible I saw).  It had hydraulic lifts.

The '89 Avanti coupe would probably use the earlier rather complicated hinge, but yes, no doubt the convertible model would be different.

To me when two pieces are spot welded together, it becomes 1 piece, not two seperate. But what do I know????

I look at it the same way.... one piece....although if someone insists it's two pieces that's allright with old mfg!
