Mel
What is the trick to removing the wiper arms or is there one? Special tool involved? Thanks.
Gunslinger
There's a tool made for that...not very expensive. You can find them online or possible at a local NAPA, Pep Boys or similar retailer. It works quickly and safely and won't damage the car body.

mfg
If you don't have that tool, you can remove the wiper arm by pulling it towards you as you lift (using a flat screw driver) on the opposite end of the arm (on the far side of the wiper pivot).....Pulling the arm towards yourself will defeat the built in 'bind' in the arm, and it should slide up and off the pivot......Use a bit of 'never seize' on installation. Jim78
Be aware that many wiper arms have a spring steel clip that latches under the spline of the shaft. You pull this clip back to release it. This can best be seen by using a small mirror under the arm. A 90 degree pick is helpful.
