  1. I'm using it in a Lycoming 0-235C2C. In a Yankee AA1. Using Aeroshell 15-50 it would run hot in any weather and in the summer it ran over red line.

I switched to Castrol Synthetic 5w-50 now it never gets out of the green, has better oil pressure, uses less oil, and starts a lot better in the cold.

Product liability problems, and certification costs prevents the aviation industry moving into the twentieth century much less the twenty first.

  2. Tell me something I don't know or fully understand.

Mine is an 84 Touring Optioned Coupe. RQB3921, 2:86 twin traction final drive, 700R4 OD trans with lock up, and the engine is a stage 2 Jasper with TPI.

I can't imagine going to lower ratio rear end. As it is, I can smoke both rear wheels with a full throttle start, and still get over 24mpg on the highway.

So what can you possibly gain by going to the 3.31, or 3.73 gears.

I would think that it would be hard to control with a hard take off.

With both wheels broke loose mine is hard to keep straight.

  3. If the cylinder is improperly assembled to the brake assembly the brake puck can hit the assembly before reaching the disc.

However if that were the case you would have a solid pedal and no brakes!

Have you tried reverse bleeding them like on an airplane. I/E pumping fluid in at the cylinders ?

  4. 1963r2 is exactly right. the routing of the lines is critical.

My E-Type uses the exact same set up except on all four wheels.

On each wheel, the flex hose must go to the bottom of the inside wheel cylinder, the steel line must go from the top of the inside cylinder to the bottom of the outside cylinder, and the bleeder to the top of the outside cylinder.

If not connected this manner you'll get them bled.

  5. With the prices for 3D printers coming down, I wonder how practical it would be to produce some of the small plastic parts that are no longer available.

Although they are still experimental, 3D printers with metal are becoming a reality.

  6. When you replaced the bushings I hope that you didn't use the axle grease on the rubber to help press them on. The axle grease is really hard on rubber suspension components.

A white petroleum lubricant like "Vaseline" Will work as well or better and won't harm the rubber. It also works well when assembling plumbing.

  7. On a recent 450 mile trip, my 84 Touring option Coupe got 24.9 MPG.

Engine; A stage 2 Jasper 350 with GM TPI. Apx 400HP

Tranny; 700R4 with a locking torque converter

Final drive; 2.86 gears with positraction.

At 70 MPH My tach shows just over 1700 RPM
