Betty Booth at Nostalgic motors has them available.
whenever possible we should support our vendors.

I think The later systems use carbon conductor ignition wires. So ignition noise isn't as big a problem.

I think Ron's right.

I believe it would need to be modified to prevent rubbing.

I'm thinking they both used the same upper castings so they should interchange.

Mine don't appear to be.

False. It wont cause measurable wear on the crankshaft gear. However it will be noticeably nosier.

Making an adapter to add them might not be too difficult.
However getting the correct balance between front and rear could be tough.

It'd make a great base for a post grinder.

When all else fails find an old time body shop. I've seen some unbelievable matches done by eye, including metallic.
A good paint man can patch paint to even take care of age fade.

I had a similar problem with my 84. The cable lug on the solenoid was metric 10x1 mm. Someone had put a 3/8x16 nut on it.
It would tighten tight but not against the seat!
I fought that for several years. The new starters and solenoids came without the nuts so we would try the old nut.
Seems GM used both metric and English studs !

Were the same seals used during the Blake years? If so, he would have had to have some molded. What became of the molds?
When Dan Booth bought all the old product and production was moved to Youngstown, did he end up with them?

I change the fluid in both my Avanti, and E-Type every two years. Takes about an hour for each one..

Originally my intake was ducted through a hole in the right fender inner panel.
When I installed the EFI I ducted it to the same place.

There is an add for new reproductions of the center section.
made from heavier gage metal in the current issue of the Avanti Magazine.

Probably true. That was about the time GM changed the mounting method on them.

I have the same brakes on my "E-Type". When you remove the piston from the leaking cylinder there is a 99% chance you will find some pitting.
You can buy stainless steel replacements from XKS Jaguar in Calif.
However I tried spinning one in a lathe with #400 then 600, then 1000 grit wet or dry sand paper using brake fluid as a wetting agent.
I then took Simichrome metal polish to finish it.
This doesn't remove any measurable amount of metal and the pits were still visible. However since they don't use "Lip seals" but a type of "O" ring it sealed well. I tried this several years ago and it is still holding just fine.
Considering the cost of new or "Sleeved" cylinders this is worth a try

Don't remember the name, but they made the heat shield for the Mercury program.

And the "Drama Queens" are at it again!

Mine was the carburetor adjusting itself.

Sounds to me like a couple "drama queens" vying for the most attention.

If set up properly It should be nearly 60% better. Since there is about 60% more side surface area exposed to the pulleys.
