  1. R4892 was restored by Dave and WCD Garage. They're sprinkling their fairy dust still on my Avanti. It never really ends, does it?
  2. Yes to ERISA, another positive government program, protecting the little guy. A lot of people at Studebaker didn't just lose their jobs....
  3. Wow, looks like the bottoms of my old MatchBook cars!
  4. Looks like you're new here? I'm not sure I understand what you are describing. When you pull the hood release inside the car, the hood doesn't pop up?
  5. Do we in Massachusetts drive on the left hand side of the road?!! Depends on what oncoming traffic is doing......
  6. Yeah, no mention of the Avanti but then again, there aren't too many Avanti's sitting around in junkyards to look over....
  7. The Ocean Bay Chapter of the Studebaker Driver's Club met last Sunday and when there's a flock of Studebaker's it draws a crowd. This fellow was asking about my car and when I turned to answer him I knew it was (but couldn't remember his name) Steve Magnante. Along with working for Barrett-Jackson, Steve had his own series called Junkyard Crawls. He's had an episode on Studebaker plus other mentions. It was great to meet him but he looked pretty gaunt. He mentioned that he was recovering from encephalitis and was feeling better. When I got home I did a quick search and found that he has a GoFundMe page. It was a treat to meet someone who thought enough of Studebaker to include them in his shows.
  8. I'm looking for the metal tag that was secured between two bolts on the cover of the Dana rear axle. It stated it was a twin traction dif, to use special lubricant. I've read they taken off during servicing and usually got left off. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.
