Was he concerned with trunk space, or cabin dimensions?

Paint? I thought he wasn't a big fan of fins either.

Do you know if the electric pump would be used in place of the mechanical pump or somehow in conjunction with it?
-
There must be a connection with Andy Granatelli/Paxton. Did they keep documentation separate from Studebaker and if so do any records survive? Price lists when they were selling R3 engines in various forms?
-
I wish I had more to add. Again, this is page G-250 of the Studebaker Avanti Authenticity Manual under "64 Dealer Order Guide for Avanti". I have a 63 Avanti and I have put blinders on to anything other than that. It's kept me plenty occupied. I have a copy of the 63 order form and it's prior to R3 so it's not listed. It was only when I compared 63 & 64 order guides that I picked up an electric pump being offered as an option. Perhaps that was more forward thinking from Studebaker that they couldn't deliver on? Does anyone have a 64 order guide to look at?

That picture didn't turn out too well. It's page G-250 of the Studebaker Avanti Authenticity Manual.

In the 64 Avanti order form it lists an auxiliary electric fuel pump as an option for R3 and R4 engines. Any idea who made the fuel pump that's listed?

I'm going with Red because red means fast!

Then I am in it! I was trying to update the AOAI listing. My Avanti wasn't included in their listing. It has a fill-in form that, when I hit send, says there was some sort of error. -

I tried adding my Avanti to the list but when I hit "send" it gives me an error message. -
Which color "S" did you add? Gold was for '63, silver for '64

It put them back on their heels to the tune of $9475.00

I view these trivia questions as learning opportunities.

63R-1830 was listed in the 2014 registry as being in New York.

I was wondering the same thing as tcgoesch, what is the correct part, and who sells them?

Hazard Lights for a Studebaker Avanti

The accessory AC-3508 says it's for all 1964 passenger cars except Avanti. -
I was wondering if anyone has added a hazard light option (both turn signals flashing) to Studebaker built Avanti? Early on in my ownership of this car would have been helpful, less needed now. From experience it's a nice safety feature.

I'm positive there were at least $3,875.00 spent on it. I'm guessing that was the extent.

I have three chances to be wrong and one chance to be right, gulp. It's a big book with a lot of pages & many blurry black and white pictures. The had to have spent $14,337.00 if they spent a dime.
-
I will guess $29,885.00 and not a nickel more.

Did anyone put an R3 into a Hawk? Was that possible?
