  2. Brad… To me, the issue here isn’t this question itself, but the fact that over the past 10 years a ‘certain person’ will only enter into one of my trivia questions if he sees a chance to correct me…. Perhaps I’m a bit ‘thin skinned’ about it, but I’m simply tired of this sort of behavior. I started this trivia thing back in 2014 for my own and others casual amusement… and I certainly don’t have all the answers! Other Avanti forum members who have participated in trivia over the years have brought forward many interesting thoughts just from random questions which I have posted. Also, although I started the ball rolling, it was always my hope other Avanti forum members would post their own trivia questions… but frankly that has hardly ever happened, so you see continual posts from ‘mfg’…..mainly to keep things rolling! Over the years I’ve requested that ‘certain person’ to stay off my posts… but he has disregarded my request, and dives in whenever he sees his chance. Perhaps Avanti Trivia has run it’s course, and the program should simply be retired?…Ed
  3. Bowler Transmissions make an excellent stand alone torque converter lockup wiring kit.
  4. Check the shift light where the wire goes into the socket for the bulb. Since the light moves with the shifter, it can break at that point and short out to the case of the light which is ground.
  5. Before I placed this grommet, my right shoe was toasted. With grommet, this was over. Get one or make one yourself from a grommet you've laying around.
  6. I'm guessing since Bob actually presented his source then turn about is fair play in asking you to present your source. You have lots of trivia questions but never have you presented your research material to back up your questions.....why not? In this era of "Fake News" facts matter and can't be disputed.
  7. Nice, I did the same thing. Cleaning is the best solution. Only watch out for the spring while opening the switch 🙂
  8. Got your email. 👍
  9. Leo… let me know if email I sent you came through.
  10. UPDATE … UPDATE… Ring found….Both matched pieces great shape…. Time for a nap!
  11. I am interested in the air conditioning console bezel. How much do you want for it.
  12. NEWS UPDATE !!!! Pinion found… Still searching for ring! This is a good thing because I can sweep out and organize things better… Also, I’m finding items I forgot that I had!!!!
  13. Looking for 500 minimum for the wheels and clips
  14. I tried a variety of spray type contact cleaners without success before opening them up. Opening just requires bending the hook tabs a little bit , easy. Even after cleaning with acetone there wasnt continuity untill sanding contacts with 400 grit.
  15. Just sent a pm.
  16. Well, the ring & pinion I have came out of a 1964 Stude V8 ‘44’ rear end that was disassembled as a ‘learning project’ and never re assembled…The rear end assy was in good shape and, in my opinion, it was a mistake to take it apart… but that’s history, and I will search out the parts later today.
  17. As I understand it, the dana 44 ring and pinion has different versions for different makes and models. As well as different carriers. I have been in contact with many dealers and the manufacturer (Yukon Gears) and nowhere have I found a Ring Gear and Pinion for a Stude 1963 model with the same dimensions. Maybe 1988 is its own thing. If someone knows more, it would be good to understand.

    Avanti Airlift!

Good stab…. but not the answer here!

    GT Two Tone!

Yes, the vinyl possibly would have lifted…. However, the reason the Granatellis painted the forward section of the GT Hawks roof white (silver?) was to help DEFLECT THE SUN’S HEAT!
  20. Nelson

    GT Two Tone!

They probably would have lost the vinyl top at speed.
  21. I am not able to view any >jpeg photos on this site..... anywhere else no problem .... anyone can help?
  22. There's a product made for electronic chassis components called D-Oxit. Works wonders for switches and potentiometers
  23. Makes me think that rather than opening 'em up, it might be prudent to just marinate them in Kerosene for a few hours....
  24. I'll have a stab at it ..... (3) $69224 ?
  25. Last week
  26. ronmanfredi suggests you check with Summit Racing Parts for a brand new set… however, I will go over to where I keep my parts tomorrow and physically inspect these two pieces… And yes.. I will email you after I do that to see if you still want them…. expect an email no later than this Sunday eve….Ed
