  2. Contact me when you arrive, in the Austin area. avanti06@att.net
  3. My reason for posting the Pix really doesn't matter if it's a AI Gen or not. The concept is totally do-able and really not a stretch. Wide Body Kits,, basically the fender flares are not cost prohibitive and are available in fiberglass... A easy thing to adapt to our already fiberglass cars.. Then wheels and tires and about a 3" drop. Might as well use new drop spindles and the likes for the rear. An easy project overall. Ron.. That Pix is way too extreme and a flared mess. Cut em in half as far as depth and Ya got something.
  4. Looks like you are just north of Austin.
  5. Here are some pictures the car. Being a 73 it has the 400 cubic inch engine. Frame only has surface rust.
  6. Moving to just outside New Braunfels
  7. Congrats on the move, what city?
  8. This particular AI generated wide body car is a fun take on alternative style. It’s extremely wide wheel base width and spoilers are interesting for sure. In fact I have plans to make my own front and rear fiberglass spoilers plus a radically modified hood to increase airflow in the engine compartment on the R2 that I’m doing a restomod restoration on. I won’t be modifying the wheel base specs and will be using the slightly modified newly rebuilt R2 engine / transmission. There will be body modifications in addition to the spoilers. The interior mods are nearing completion as far as what can be done prior to a complete body strip and paint and will surprise many. For me, this is an exercise of do it myself creation, improvement and change. For many, it will be rad. For the purists, whom I respect and support completely, they may not approve, but most likely will be impressed.
  9. Two seater built by Jim Bunting.

  11. I thought it looked chopped at first..
  12. Looks AI generated to me. but if you squint with one eye you can get an idea of what a two seater Avanti could have resembled...
  13. Look closely at the picture. Is it a real Avanti or AI generated?
  14. I acknowledge that owners can modify their cars in any way that makes them happy. But, to me, the flares and spoilers are visual blight. The Avanti broke world speed records without spoilers and wider wheels over 60 years ago. What's the point other than "Look what I can do"?
  15. Yeah, I'm not much for the metal structured fin or front air dam either., but would rather see a creative painted and well formed metal made structure. But the stance, wheels, tires and fenders are quite nice. I had been considering my '63' as a daily driver (cept winter and salted roads) I have my concerns doing so with a stock vehicle as this one is. BUT... To take a post '64' with a Chev V-8, and buying one for around $12k in need of resto, would leave a lot of financial room for modding up something like this...... My '63 would easily sell for around $40k... leaving a lot of financial room to turn out something like this. Bet it could be done for about another $10-12k out of pocket.

    Very Tempting

Excepting that ‘park bench’ bolted to the rear deck, it does look pretty nice!

    R3 vs.R4

    Sounds real interesting!
  18. I am moving from California to Texas and have several cars to ship and at this point limited room. The car is a 73 that I purchased as a project car. The body is good, never damaged. The frame and hog troughs are good. Dash is bad. Car ran ok but has not been driven for quite a few years. I am looking to get about $2500 for it. You can contact me at DLsys73@gmail.com or 408-209-8874 (you can also send text).

    R3 vs.R4

I have run my 260 cubic inch Bonneville engine to 8,000 rpm. It is de-stroked to to 3.15 and overbored .0622.
  20. I saw this Pix on Facebook, and it is SOOO tempting to do one of these. I would NEVER cut up my '63' since it's 99.5% stock and that would be a Butchering.. But maybe there's a Project in my future.

  23. I also have interior dash bezel, and shifter S bezel, interior new mini rear view mirrors, radio, lower control arm and supercharged scripts for fenders, many other parts, Thanks, Alan
  24. I have a OEM set that needs 2/3 welds, I took off my R1 in 1988 when Cafaro factory, Greenville OH replaced my front clip with SA LE square halogen and ground spoiler. Very good condition, no pitting, Call Alan if interested 989.600.3171, email : boardwalkskateshop@gmail.com
  25. I've attended and participated in AOAI annual events like this one since the late 1970s. It's a pleasure to see the cars that will be judged today. I mentioned to my wife how interesting it is that when I went to my first AOAI/SDC annual gathering around 1978, most of the Avanti owners were about my age. At this 2026 gathering I'm 48 years older and most of the owners are, again, about my age.
  26. That’s crummy Guy… you might want to give Dave Thibeault a phone call.
  27. Gorgeous!
  28. Great pictures! It's going to get warm today.
