What two things were changed (concerning the frame ) on the '83-'85 Avantis that actually made them MORE susceptible to 'rusting' and 'rotting out' than the earlier, '63-'82 Avanti frames?

Yes!:D....fully welded edges gets you 1/2 way there!

No problem, I do that all the time!

And you are CORRECT!:).......for whatever reason the factory left out the holes in the lower plate.:rolleyes:
