Re-assemby of a Studebaker Avanti's ......?...... is aided by the use of talcum powder.

1) Dash cover......2) Windshield w/strip & mouldings.......3) Brake booster.....or......4) Bucket seat covers

I would say it would help slip the brake booster pedal rod through the firewall boot.

I'm guessing the glass would install easier into the rubber with a talc powder

So, the ANSWER here is #3, BRAKE BOOSTER...........Brad came the closest by mentioning the booster, however, his reason for using talcum powder was not correct.:(

 

From the Bendix 'Master-Vac' repair manual..... during re-assembly........."Apply talcum powder to inside wall of rear diaphragm shell."
