Stormy Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 I have purchased the tool from Studebaker International designed to remove interior door and window handles. But I cannot figure out just how to use the tool and what direction the tool should be inserted . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Daryl
Gunslinger Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 The tool should be inline with the handle...slip it under the handle and push. The retaining clip should push out and the handle simply pulls off. Sometimes the clip is installed 180 degrees the other way so try it from both side of the handle. If I can do it...anyone can.
Avanti83 Posted August 2, 2018 Report Posted August 2, 2018 For future reference, here's a shot of the window crank, clip and tool in their respective positions.
Stormy Posted August 3, 2018 Author Report Posted August 3, 2018 Thank you both. I assume when one needs to reattach the handle, the direction is just reversed.
64studeavanti Posted August 3, 2018 Report Posted August 3, 2018 Reattach is easy. Install the clip on the handle (correct way this time) and push the handle on.
Stormy Posted August 3, 2018 Author Report Posted August 3, 2018 OK, that makes sense. I am off to the barn to try my luck. Thank you all. Daryl
