No, that's not it...As a matter of fact, the change in front turn signals created LESS parts!

Rain drip moldings.  Also the modifications to the rear glass moldings to keep the window from being sucked out.

Gunslinger and grobb284 have the item (and answer) which I was thinking of.....the STAINLESS STEEL MOULDINGS which retain the rear window or 'backlight'!

I do also agree with 64studeavanti that the number of parts associated with the cowl was increased....The new second grille was 'built into' later Avanti's cowls.

I disagree with studegary on the lower grille, as that, (to me) was/is something 'added on', a completely different feature which early Avantis didn't have.....Gunslingers rain drip mouldings (it seems to me) fall into that same category!
