Shoovel Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Folks, I’m working on a 64 Avanti with tilt wheel. The cable from the turn signal mechanism to the switch is broken. I can get a new cable, but there is no where in the shop manual, that I can find that gives a description of how to replace it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

Thanks Tom As I’m sure you know, the factory tilt wheel option on ‘64 Avantis is quite rare. That same tilt mechanism is more commonly found in early ‘A’ series Avanti ll’s. I’ve never worked on one, but I think that GM used the same unit in mid sixties Buicks, Olds, Chevy, etc. I’d guess that if you can source a shop manual for one of those vehicles it would give you the info you need in depth… Good luck!
Gunslinger Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I think the go-to guy for that would be Dan Booth at Nostalgic Motors.
