Zedman Posted December 15 Report Posted December 15 (edited) My compliments SCPO-PD, you are doing a great job ! Great photos . On my own Avanti II, found the little bellows/seal where the brake pedal plunger goes through the Firewall to be hard and decided t replace it, seeing I'm eventually painting the firewall. You're lucky... I can't get the windscreen washer bottle off the top of the firewall. Edited December 15 by Zedman
Guy Posted December 16 Report Posted December 16 I installed Flowmaster cast iron ramhorns headers on my sbc conversion in my 63, very good quality and fit, not cheap, I first ordered a welded tube type ramhorn quality was horrible had to return. Guy.

My washer bottle removal didn't work as well as I wished. One of the bolts came out fine. The other (outboard) just spun and spun. I ended up cutting the bolt with a hacksaw blade. Found out that the bottle split allowing the embedded nut to spin.... Couldn't find a replacement bottle so after some YouTube search I found an epoxy & gauze patch idea that holds water. I will reinstall the tank with the one bolt and some heavy duty Velcro on the other side....
SCPO-PD Posted December 20 Author Report Posted December 20 Well I painted the new heavy duty front sway bar hoy Pink to match the other suspension highlight and thought I would get it installed this weekend. Oddly the straps that hold the new bushings to the control arms and frame brackets are not deep enough to hold the bushing and make the connection. I called SI and sent pictures and am awaiting an answer / response from the shop that fashioned them..... Anyone have any insight??
Footer Posted December 20 Report Posted December 20 When I bought my 7/8” front bar it came with bigger brackets. Mike
64StudebakerAvanti Posted December 20 Report Posted December 20 The sway bar bushings are hard to fit even for stock. I do the ones on the frame first, using a jack to get them place. Then the ones on the a frames.

Steve-Avanti Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago SCPO-PD, Your under hood detailing looks great. What's your source (brand, paint code or color name) for your paint. I'm about to detail my 77. It's listed in the glove box as Silver Moondust Metallic but I can't find anything under that name. Thx. Steve
