Are there any books or articles that go into this further? I would like to know more of the Avanti "origin story".

Any other thoughts on this question? Edited Saturday at 02:57 PM by mfg Added “ thoughts”
Mark63Avanti Posted Saturday at 03:55 PM Report Posted Saturday at 03:55 PM Another question: 51 minutes ago, mfg said: Avanti equipped with a frame produced at Studebaker, South Bend. Another question: When you say a "frame produced at Studebaker, South Bend" what do you mean by this? I thought frames were made by Budd and sent to South Bend. Second Question: Who's "Armor Guard" frame tagline was it? I believe I've seen this used in Studebaker literature.

Owner states “1st production frame built by Studebaker”.. which could be interpreted as built by the Budd company.. but not by Midland Ross, as the ‘EX’ Stude Avantis frames were.
Geoff Posted Monday at 09:42 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:42 PM Personal experience has me conflicted; the 25th frame, 21st engine and 19th body came together to make 1025. So there's no rhyme or reason to use. I'll throw my dart in the pitch black at a dark wall and hope I hit with, 3) 63R 1003

Geoff Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM Report Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM "not quite there" leads me to believe it's further to go, rather than an overshoot. 4) 63R 1004
