64studeavanti Posted January 29 Report Posted January 29 (edited) I know the trunk area is black. Any ideas as to gloss? Maybe semi gloss? Originally enamel or lacquer? Edited January 29 by 64studeavanti
64studeavanti Posted January 29 Author Report Posted January 29 Answered part of the question. The black paint is easily removed with lacquer thinner. Checked several locations. Am sure it is factory since I was able to get down to primer. Going with semi gloss unless I hear otherwise.

After 4309 the carpet on the back wall was eliminated. It is possible other pieces were eliminated as well and the areas painted black. I want to say flat black but am not 100% sure. Definitely not gloss. Maybe someone with a later car can give you a definite answer.
64studeavanti Posted January 29 Author Report Posted January 29 This is serial R5408. It only has 4 carpet pieces: left floor, right floor, spare tire, and lock. I also have R4551 and R5423. All have the same carpet pieces and the entire area is painted black. I agree that it does not appear to be gloss black. I was suprised about the lacquer paint.

So for early cars, just the spare tire well is painted in Trim Black.
