mfg Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 Studebaker produced at least one Avanti R2 powered Lark type vehicle with a "JTSH" engine number prefix.....True?
r1lark Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 True, there were a handful of Red F-body Commanders built with R2 packages, and they had JTSH-prefixed engine numbers. Some of these were at Bonneville during the '63 speed runs. One was the December ’63 Motor Trend road test car.

Dwight FitzSimons Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 The "JTS" designates a supercharged (R2) engine installed in a Hawk or a Lark-type car. For the 1964 model year the "H" indicates the month the engine was assembled, August (the eighth month). (Note that a '63 Lark or Hawk R2 engine would also have a JTS prefix, but just numbers following that.) --Dwight
