A rare coincidence, early Studebaker Avanti 63R1003's engine carries serial number RS1003!......True?

Being such a low number it could infact be plausible.

Being that your question could contain some trickery ie R or RS and based solely on the number in question and the lowness of that serial number my quess is true.

Just so folks know....Avanti R2 engine RS1003 left the factory in Studebaker Avanti 63R1002!

Yes, there's a reprint of 63R1002's production order in issue 166 of Avanti Magazine....Its final assembly date was 6/14/62, and its factory R2 engine is indeed # RS-1003.

Dave Kinney owns this Avanti....it's 'mint'....and it won best in class at the Amelia Island Concours in 2014!       (Body # 63RQ102)
