I have a 91 convertible with 48,000 miles. Overall has held up pretty well. I purchased about 2 1/2 years ago from a fellow that owned it for 24 years. Other than the normal oil changes and minor things I have replaced the radio speakers, tires and wheels, radiator and fan clutch both rear 1/4 window motors. It drives and runs fantastic and looks as good as it did when it was built.

Wow that is sure a great web site to keep for locating bolts, Thanks for posting that.

With these numbers you can not break out what is a convertible and what is not can you? My 1991 convertible as I was told they only made 6, the rest were 4 doors.
-
Lets guess it was so well built the first time that it made it to 1980 so #4.

I think #1. 55 pounds

Hi Scott, the link to go to the web site is not taking you to the car??

Yes, there are 4 in this town, or there was 4 but one left and moved to Texas. I will attempt to make contact with the newest one and go measure his windshield. Will let ya know what I find.

Hello everyone. I am looking for a windshield for a 1990 4 door. Are they available? Thanks
Is it safe to assume that so far no luck in finding a windshield?

We used to grind all the crud away till we found solid metal to work with. Used a plazma cutter to cut the bad frame out leaving solid frame to weld to. Wire brushed clean and I forget the steel gage thickness now, but it was compareable to the thickness of the frame we were working on. Had a metal brake to bend any thing we needed to bend to fit the cut out areas. Used weld through primer on anything being welded in. Used our stick welder back then, long before mig was ever around. Ground down all the welded area and back then sprayed Dupont Imron two part epoxy paint on all the areas we worked on. Then sprayed a rust proofing like Ziebart through a long hose into the boxed frame to stop or at least give some life to the repaired frame. I did a lot of foreign cars back then and the Datsun and Fiat were know rust buckets and the frames rotted before the bodys did. We kept many of them running for years by patching the rot. I thinking now that my biggest customers were Mercedes and and Jags too.

In the 80's when I owned a body shop we repaired many rusted out frames on the "old" cars, that were failing in some areas. This was in the Detroit area and rust was a normal thing for us to fix. Your frame photos don't look too bad and something that would be a fairly easy fix.

I think only 3 different radios were offeded too.

I thought my 1991 conv is about 4400 lbs so i guess #4. 4490

I'm thinkng 2. $3,000 would be a fairly expensive up charge in 2002

I stopped at the local old time key and lock shop here in town. The owner had thought he might have had some with the Avanti logo, we looked for about 1 hour going up and down the rows of keys and could not find them. Left him my name and phone number incase he finds any. Also the second set of keys I got with my convertible, has the Avanti logo on them. never noticed as I don't use that set.

I'm guessing the glass would install easier into the rubber with a talc powder
-
My 1991 key shows a GM logo? Do they come with a Avanti logo from the factory?
-
It is somewhat stuck to the headliner material.
-
Any luck yet in finding us both a windshield?

I think it is off a Chevrolet Caprice so #2

Nice looking ride you have. Love the color.

I was looking for a windshield for my 91 convertible and never found one. The 4 door and conv might have the same glass.

Since Dan Booth owned Nostalgic Motors the only Avanti dealership in Michigan that I knew of I would say he sold the most, Michigan.
